A Summer Affair By Manish Malhotra at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014

Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Resort 2014 kick started with a stunning show by the king of Indian fashion, Manish Malhotra. His ‘Summer Affair’ turned the stage into a whimsical garden with dramatic flowers and leaves gracefully hanging down from the ceiling. Romanticism was in the air as exotic floral were suspended down on the stage, mirroring the lavender hues on his designs.   
Sonakshi Sinha, made a graceful entry in a long floor-kissing sheer midnight blue kurta with stunning white embroidery to set the mood of the delicate ethereal collection.

The fashion guru said on his collection is influenced by the romanticism that exists in today's day and age... where layers and boundaries are surpassed… the young in love are distracted and are expressing their individuality. "Summer 2014, for me, is about the feelings and emotions this modern day romance evokes,” he said. Soft pinks, powder blues, beige and ivory met with navy and grey, as print on print and embroidery on embroidery united on splendid lehengas and gowns.
